Where/When:  in Occoquan. Gallery hours are Tue. – Fri., 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Sat., 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sun., noon – 5 p.m.

Why Go: The Loft Gallery is celebrating its 25th anniversary with this month-long sale on original paintings, sculpture, photography, and more by its 21 member artists. 

Pricing: There is no admission cost; prices vary for artwork.

3. Black History Month at Libraries

Where/When: , Saturday Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. — , Saturday Feb. 12 at 2:00 p.m.

Why Go: Nearby libraries are celebrating African-American heritage with several events. Potomac Library hosts Diane Macklin from the Interact Story Theatre for , and Chinn Library hosts craft time and dance class.

Where/When: in Occaquan, Saturday, Feb. 12 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Why Go: Artists Jack Nevitt and Diane Yim will be there to show their work at this artists’ cooperative gallery. An art exhibit can be a very romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day weekend.

Pricing: No admission cost; prices vary for artwork.

Where/When: each Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Learn the basics of Pilates and challenge your deep abdominal muscles to support your core while focusing on proper breathing. Anyone age 13 or older can participate.

Pricing: $72 for four 55-minute classes, $144 for eight 55-minute classes.
