Special Cat Adoption Event Saturday

A group offering cats and kittens for adoptions is having an extra event on Saturday.

A volunteer group dedicated to rescuing felines is having an additional adoption event this month because of the large number of cats it has ready to be adopted.

A Cat's Friend, the group which normally at the Dale City Petco the second Saturday of each month, is holding an . The adoption event helps to take cats and kittens off of the streets.

Group member Martha Roberts said there are many cats still in foster homes waiting to be adopted, leading to the extra event this month. Roberts said the group has cats of all ages, sizes, colors and personalities.

All the cats up for adoption have been spayed or neutered. There is an adoption fee and a contract to sign to make sure that each cat gets a good home, Roberts said.

Spotlight: Brandy and Jordan

Brandy and Jordan were left homeless when their owner was evicted recently, Roberts said.

Six-year-old Brandy is Jordan’s mom, and is very petite compared to her energetic five-year-old son. Both cats are healthy, spayed or neutered, and up to date on all their shots. Roberts said they have perfect litter box habits, love canned food and only scratch on their climbing tree.

Brandy is described as sweet and talkative, while Jordan loves to head-butt and chase laser lights. They are both extremely people-friendly and used to being around other cats. They have had exposure to dogs, too.

If you have room in your heart and space in your home for either or both of these wonderful cats, please consider adopting them. They are being helped through a rescue group which requires a contract and a small fee.

If you’d like to hear more about them, please call Christine at 571-332-1498. You can come and meet them at her home in Woodbridge.
