A 4-month-old $1 million lottery ticket is out there in Woodbridge somewhere and the Virginia Lottery is itching to hand over the prize money — but can't find the winner.

The ticket for the New Year's Millionaire Raffle was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 13304 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge. It was one of three winning tickets across the state, but the Woodbridge ticket is the only one that hasn't been claimed.

By law, winning tickets in Virginia expire 180 days after the drawing, giving the winner a deadline of 5 p.m. on June 30. The person who has the ticket can contact the Virginia Lottery at 804-692-7777 or 703-494-1501.

All unclaimed prize money goes to the state Literary Fund, according to the Virginia Lottery. The Fund is used to upgrade technology in schools and teacher retirement funding. Since its inception in 1988, the Lottery has transferred more than $234 million in unclaimed prizes to Virginia’s Literary Fund.
