Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $400 Million

After no one won the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday the jackpot for Friday surged to $400 million, the second-largest jackpot in the game’s history.

If one ticket hits all six numbers, the winner will have the choice of being paid in 30 annual payments, or taking about $216.4 million before takes in a one-time cash payout.

"The strong sales of Mega Millions tickets mean more than just an exciting jackpot," Paul Otto, lead director for Mega Millions group said in a news release. 

There hasn’t been a jackpot winner since Oct. 1. The odds of wining the jackpot are one in 259 million.
