The Prince William County Police Department offered several tips to keep you, your children, and your pets safe from rabies:
- Vaccinate all dogs, cats and ferrets against rabies.
- Remind your children never to touch strange animals.
- Don't leave garbage or pet food outside. It may attract animals.
- Keep your distance when observing wildlife.
- Don't let your pets roam free.
