King's Legacy of Courage and Character Honored

The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority hosted its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration at the Hylton Memorial Chapel in Dale City on Monday. The program, which has occurred every year since 1985, featured an appearance by Dr. Thelma Daley and performances by the Martin Luther King Community Choir, made up of over 300 students from Prince William County in grades K-12, and formed specifically for the purpose of providing music for the program. Each year in conjunction with the program, PWCAC-DST sponsors the Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest. Six of the contest finalists delivered their speeches to the audience as part of the program.
