'Our Town' Auditions, Learn How to Can and Free Skin Cancer Screenings

Sing with the New Dominion Choraliers. Aug. 26, 7:30 p.m. Old Bridge United Methodist Church, 3966 Old Bridge Road, Woodbridge. Join the Choraliers. Registration required, but no audition necessary. 

Free skin cancer screening. Aug. 27, 5 p.m. Sentara Lorton Marketplace, 9455 Lorton Market Street, Lorton. Detect skin cancer early, so you can treat it. For adults 18 and older only.

Canning 101: The Basics of Home Food Preservation. Aug. 28, 9 a.m. Manassas Church of the Brethren, 10047 Nokesville Road, Manassas. Take a canning class for $20.

NOVA Woodbridge Theatre Group Auditions for "Our Town." Aug. 29, 5 p.m., Northern Virginia Community College, Woodbridge Campus, Arts & Sciences Building, Room 139, 15200 Neabsco Mills Road, Woodbridge. Audition for a production of Thornton Wilder's American classic Our Town. Auditions are open to both students and members of the community. Prepare a one-minute monologue and get ready to do cold readings from the script. 

Prince William Community Band -- 2013 Summer Sounds Concerts. Aug. 31, 6:30 p.m. Harris Pavilion, 9116 Center Street, Old Town Manassas. Free outdoor concert of American classics.
