Wind Advisory with Gusts up to 55 MPH
Strong winds are headed our way starting at 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the area from 3 p.m. until midnight.
NWS said the strongest winds will be late this afternoon through this evening, with winds from 20 to 30 miles per hour, gusting up to 55 miles-per-hour.
The Prince William County Fire Marshal's office has implemented an outdoor burn ban until Saturday, Feb. 25 in an effort to prevent brush fires that happened around the same time last year. The office also advised that all outdoor furniture, trash receptacles, cooking grills and free-standing items be secured in advance of the high winds forecasted.
