A Woodbridge man was charged with stealing a car from Fairfax County after police said he was caught driving the car in Dale City Monday.
A police officer driving near the intersection of Cloverdale Road and Dillon Avenue Monday evening was alerted to the stolen vehicle by his Automated License Plate Recognition cameras. When he attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver ignored the emergency lights and sirens and drove to the dead end of Elmwood Court, then got out and fled on foot.
Police said the driver was arrested after a short pursuit on foot, and that officers found marijuana on his person.
Nathaniel Bernard Hines, 21, of 14425 Lamar Rd in Woodbridge, was charged with grand larceny, eluding and possession of marijuana. His court date and bond information were not released.
