Spriggs Road Trucks on BOCS Agenda
The agenda for Board of County Supervisors meeting on Tuesday includes a proposal to allow through trucks on Spriggs Road along with budget amendments and other issues.
The Prince William Board of County Supervisors will hear public comments Tuesday on proposals to allow through-trucks on Spriggs Road and to transfer county-owned land in Woodbridge for use as part of a scenic trail, among other items on the agenda.
At the 2:00 p.m. meeting on Tuesday, the board will consider budget amendments and hear a presentation on the Ten-Year Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness as well as the Legislative Update. The board will also hold public hearings on several issues.
Two proposals would transfer county-owned land on Highams Court and Blacksmith Terrace to the Park Authority to be used as part of the Potomac National Heritage Scenic Trail. The board will also hear public comment on a proposal to request that the Commonwealth Transportation Board remove the current through-truck restriction on Spriggs Road.
At its 7:30 p.m. meeting, the board will consider a proffer amendment for the Rippon Center to reduce the office/employment component, alter the building heights and footprints, and to propose a different configuration of the proffered VRE parking spaces. The other item on the agenda for the evening meeting is a special use permit for T-Mobile to install a 110-foot telecommunications stealth bell tower facility at Bethel Chimes. The proposed facility at the intersection of Minnieville Road and Smoketown Road would have internally mounted antennas, and be enclosed by a 30-foot by 50-foot fenced equipment compound.
Board meetings are broadcast live on Comcast channel 23 and Verizon channel 37, and re-broadcast Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The meetings are also streamed live and archived for future viewing at www.pwcgov.org/BOCSmeetings.
