Police Updates: Darbydale Robbery; Burglary
A Dumfries man was robbed in the Darbydale area and a house was burglarized.
A Dumfries man was robbed by three men in the Darbydale neighborhood on Saturday, police said.
The 32-year-old man told police he was walking near the intersection of Dillon Avenue and Delano Drive just before midnight on Saturday when three strangers approached him. One of the men attacked the victim and took his jacket, then all three ran away.
The attacker was described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds, wearing a black jacket, black ski mask and blue jeans. The two men with him were described as a black male about 5 feeet 10 inches tall, 185 to 200 pounds wearing a black jacket and black sweat pants, and a white male about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds.
Hundreds of dollars worth of electronics were stolen from a home in the 14700 block of Endsley Turn. The homeowner told police the burglary had happened sometime between 11:59 a.m. on Saturday and 2:00 a.m. Sunday. Police said entry had been made through an unlocked door. A GPS, video recorder and DVDs, worth about $450 altogether, were reported stolen.
