Occoquan Haunted This Month by Familiar Halloween Characters

Occoquan is filled with spooky characters this season.

Occoquan sports its own share of spooks, and starting this Saturday, you can see some favorite Halloween characters haunting the small town.

"Many of the wonderful shops you can visit will be getting into the Halloween spirit, and want you to be a part of it," said Laverne Carson, President of the Occoquan Business Guild.

These life-size Halloween characters will lurk on benches, porches and doorways across town.

Occoquan is said to be haunted by ghosts of Civil War soldiers who died in the area. Rockledge Mansion features one such haunting.

Also continuing this month are Occoquan's ghost tours. On Oct. 15, Lake Ridge - Occoquan Patch will publish an interview with Kathleen Pietrewicz, the new official coordinator of the ghost tours. Patch writer Lori Craddock tagged along last year on a ghost tour

Quinn's Goldsmith doesn't have a spooky character out front, but they do have a beautiful Fall display that is perfect for Fall Photo Ops!
