A local man faces charges after he allegedly stabbed an acquaintance, Prince William County Police said.

Eduardo Alejandro Iraheta, 22, of Heather Glen Court in Woodbridge, is charged with malicious wounding.

Police said that on Dec. 22 at 8:05 p.m. they responded to a report of a fight on Enterprise Lane in Woodbridge. A 31-year-old Woodbridge woman reported that she and Iraheta were involved in an argument that escalated.

"Following the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim with an unknown object," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the police department, said in a press release. "Following the altercation, the victim was driven to the hospital by a family member where police were contacted."

Police arrested Iraheta at his residence without incident.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Iraheta was held without bond.
