I-95 Traveler Alert and More from VDOT

Detours recommended: Traffic will be stopped intermittently for utility work.

 

I-95 Traveler Alert 

(New) On Tuesday, Feb. 12, just after midnight, all traffic on I-95 north and south at mile marker 147 located near Exit 148 (Marine Corps Base Quantico) will be stopped intermittently for up to 15 minutes at a time for utility work.  The closures will take place between midnight and 4 a.m.

To avoid delays northbound motorists are urged to exit I-95 at Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville) in Stafford County and southbound motorists should exit at Exit  150 (Joplin Road) in Prince William County to access Route 1 north and south. 

Signs and message boards will be posted along the corridor to inform motorists of construction activities.  State police will be onsite directing traffic.

Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., slope repair work continues on I-95 south between Exit 148 (Quantico Marine Corps Base) in Prince William County and Exit 143 (Route 610/Aquia/Garrisonville) in Stafford County.

The right lane will be closed near mile marker 147. Motorists should expect minor travel delays in this area.
