Prince William County Police are looking for a man that allegedly was involved in a Dumfries shooting Friday night.

Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that earlier in the night a large fight broke out after a Gar-Field Senior High School basketball game. Police broke up and dispersed the fight, after which several juveniles regrouped at Potomac Mills Mall no fights were reported at the mall. Around 10:44 p.m. Friday night, two groups met up again in Dumfries where another fight happened.

Perok said during the encounter, a member of one group, later identified as the accused, displayed a handgun and fired several shots. Following the shots, both groups dispersed. No one was injured as a result of this exchange, but, Perok said the vehicle with the shooter proceeded to the area of Old Triangle Road and Sigel Court in Dumfries where the accused fired several shots again, this time from the vehicle, at two uninvolved individuals walking on the sidewalk.

One of the people walking on the sidewalk, an 18-year-old Triangle woman was grazed by a bullet that Perok said struck her head. The woman was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries, the second person on the sidewalk was unharmed.

Witnesses and the victim were able to provide police with a vehicle description as it sped away from the area. Prince William County Police and Dumfries Police saturated the area and were able to identify the shooter as Johnnie Pablito Kamara, also known as "Blaze," 19, of no fixed address.

Kamara is described as a black male, 5-foot-nine, 160 pound, black hair and brown eyes. He is wanted for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting from a vehicle.

Anyone with information relating to the whereabouts of Kamara is urged to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS. You don't have to give your name, just the information. You could earn up to a $1,000 cash reward.

Two large, related fights in two very public places endangering innocent citizens, and no arrests? It is unfortunate that the perpetrators were not apprehended and searched before the situation escalated to a shooting. Perhaps the weapon would have been found at that time. How much extra will that oversight cost in police work and public suffering?
