Body Found In Woods Is Apparent Suicide

Police have tentatively identified the human remains found on Dec. 13.

Prince William County police have reportedly identified the body found in the woods near Dale Boulevard last week.

Police said they believe the victim was a man who lived in an apartment complex near the area where the body was found, InsideNova reports. He apparently committed suicide.

Surveyors working near the intersection on Dale Boulevard and Benita Fitzgerald Drive in the woods on Dec. 13. Police said the body was about 350-400 yards from the roadway.

This was the second such discovery in Dale City this year. In May, a skull was discovered in the wooded area near Dale Boulevard and Gideon Drive. The skull was later identified as belonging to a homeless man who had been reported missing in February. Police said in that case there were no signs of foul play.
