2nd & Charles Open in Woodbridge
Store opened last Wednesday, a division of Books a Million
The former location of Borders is now home to a new type of buy-and-sell bookstore. 2nd & Charles officially opened to the public last Wednesday before the rush of Black Friday shopping.
Located in the Smoketown Station strip mall between ULTA cosmetics and FedEx Office, the store obtained much of its stock from parent company, Books a Million and from what employees sold them.
Many books are on sale for under $2 and if you spend more than $20 at the store you will get a free tote.
On its website, 2nd & Charles says that the buyback program processes items’ condition and compares it with the store's current inventory. Then, customers can get a cash offer, store credit or have items returned.

I checked it out Saturday. Was pleasantly surprised to see they hired back most of the borders crew. The store was mostly stocked with overstock from their other stores, a few new books and blu-rays, and a small but interesting selection of new vinyl. Some prices were reasonable, but some were way too high as they didn't reflect the poor condition of the product in question. I guess it will take a few weeks to see if the this particular location has more discerning purchasers. One pet peeve was that on a few of the more collectible items had the price sticker directly on the cover. If they're going to sell something marked up considerably as a collectible, the boneheads in purchasing should know better than to deface the item by gluing a sticker on it!

I just checked it out for the first time and was very impressed. They have a broader selection than I was expecting.
